[September 16, 2013] Aaaand We're back!

Hey folks,

I hope everyone had a fantastic summer and a super great first week of classes.

For the first-years recently added to this list, welcome to EWB, the club that'll change your university experience! For everyone else, welcome back and we hope you're excited to get back into action with the chapter!

There's so much going on with EWB this fall, the term is going to be a roller coaster of excitement. We know you know want to get super involved and the best way to do that is to come out to our....

First General Meeting!

We will be having TWO general meetings this week to accomodate everyone!
Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in E5 2004
Thursday at 6 p.m. in E5 2004
Come out to the meeting to learn about all the exciting things our chapter is doing, our plans for the fall and all the role you can play this term. You can check out our event page for more information.

Paved With Good Intentions: Book Launch & Discussion

Where: Faculty of Social Work Room 101, 120 Duke Street West, Kitchener
When: September 23, 6:30 p.m.
Join us for a discussion with authors Nikolas Barry-Shaw and Dru Oja Jay on a new book that challenges international development NGO's. We're co-hosting this event with WPIRG and hope to learn things that challenge our perspectives on international development and allow us to take a self-critical approach about how EWB operates. Check out the event page for all the information you need.

Register for Run to End Poverty!

You'll be hearing a lot (I mean A LOT) about R2EP in the next month. R2EP is a national movement of runners united to fundraise for EWB and bring an end to extreme poverty. The Waterloo run takes place during Oktoberfest on the 20th. If you're super excited and ready to get the ball rolling you can sign up to run and get your campaign going!

That's it for now, we'll be seeing you all on Tuesday or Thursday (or both) and are super excited for an awesome term with you!

Cheers,

UW EWB
