Program: Environmental Engineering
Country: Malawi
Partner: Local faith-based NGO - The Central Church of African Presbyterianism Synod of Livingstonia Water and Sanitation Coordination Office (CCAP WatSan)

E-mail: danking@ewb.ca

Daniel was the first EWB volunteer to be directly partnered with CCAP WatSan in an attempt to build a relationship between the two organizations. He lived in the rural village of Mpamba working with local private entrepreneurs in Malawi's water sector in an effort to understand the challenges and intricacies of safe water supply in Malawi's Northern Region. His placement primarily focused on a pilot program testing a "self-supply" hypothesis where individuals contract the services of local artisans to install safe drinking water points on their own property.
