About EWB Placements
Kimberley Thomas: an EWB Long Term Overseas Volunteer currently working in Lilongwe, Malawi
Engineers Without Borders has sent over 100 volunteers on internships overseas in the past 4 years. Internships can be four or eight month placements that enable chapter members to have a high-impact opportunity to learn about development. Four month placements are generally an introduction to development work and are recommended for members who have never gone on an internship. Longer placements are 6-8 months, with increasingly measurable and clear development impact. These can be with partners or on EWB-led projects. The target audience is chapter members or general EWB members for whom the placement will be their first or second overseas assignment.
